A massive crowd of people took to the streets in
Madrid Wednesday, going all the way from Puerta de Alcalá to
Puerta del Sol, protesting against the economic recession, house
evictions and healthcare cuts, reported El Público.
Protesters waved flags, wore costumes and
chanted spirited slogans such as From North to South, from East
to West, the fight goes on, whatever it costs and We want
accounts not stories.
Meanwhile, the Spanish riot police arrested two
people for allegedly defying police authority. The confrontation
left two police officers and three demonstrators with minor
injures.
